I don’t have to tell you balancing homeschooling and a career can be difficult. With so much on your plate already, it can be hard to find time for work. However, with the power of the internet, making money from home has become easier than ever before. In the next few minutes, we’ll discuss three easy ways that you can make money from home while homeschooling your kids. So, sit back, grab a cup of coffee, and let’s dive in!
1. Virtual Assistant: As a virtual assistant, you help folks and businesses with administrative tasks such as data entry, e-mail management, scheduling, and bookkeeping, social media, really anything that you have developed some skills at..What most people don’t realize is OTHER PEOPLE need YOUR SKILLS. We look over our own skill sets and forget that other people need help with them. . The best part is that work can typically be done from your computer while you’re homeschooling your kids. To become a virtual assistant, you can complete online courses or certifications that will give you the proper skills and knowledge to succeed. Websites like UpWork and Fiverr make it easy to find virtual assistant work.
2. Sell Products Online: One of the easiest ways to make money from home (and how I make a majority of my own income) while homeschooling is to sell products online. This can include anything from homemade crafts to digital products(I’m partial to digital products because there is little to no overhead which means the scalability is out of this world, and the profits are IMMEDIATE). Websites like Etsy and Amazon Handmade allow you to sell your handmade creations with no upfront costs. For digital products, you can use websites like Shopify to sell things like digital printables or e-books (they can also handle handmade things as well of course but do have a minimal up front cost). When setting up a store like Shopify, check out how I run a personal brand (I have lots of videos on YouTube at http://watchmartha.com), because with a strong personal brand, having storefront is super easy to sell from…AND it can branch into ALL THE THINGS. One of the biggest things I teach is how to grow at least 7 income streams from your personal brand from home 🙂
3. Online Tutoring: As a homeschooling parent, you are already equipped with the knowledge and skills to be a great tutor. Online tutoring is becoming increasingly popular and can be a great way to make money from home. Websites like Chegg and TutorMe allow you to tutor students in a variety of subjects, from the comfort of your own home. Tutoring sessions can typically take place during afternoon or evening hours, so you can still dedicate your mornings to homeschooling.
4. Bonus Addition! Direct Sales: Direct sales is a popular way to make money from home. There are numerous companies out there that allow you to sell products to others and earn a commission. Some popular direct sales companies include Young Living, Tupperware, Avon, and Mary Kay. These companies provide you with marketing materials and training, making it easy to start your own business from home. (Not everyone wants to do this, and I get it, but if you’re wanting to, I have a strategy with Young Living specifically where I pretty much take everything off of your plate and do most of the strategy for you…and I hit a rank with that company that typically takes 4-5 years….in 6 months 🙂 So, yeah, it’s one of my income streams.
